Ashley Kim Stewart

Work
Previous work experience in teaching English, proofreading and copy-editing. She is now doing an internship for Global Citizen as a researcher.

Education
Completed her Bachelor of Education at Rand Afrikaans University (South Africa) in 2004. She recently finished writing her MSc thesis in Development and International Relations at Aalborg University in Denmark, and will graduate in June 2010. 

Areas of Interest
Has mainly concentrated on African concerns and Gender Studies throughout her higher education, specifically focusing on issues such as democracy and governance, civil war and female genital mutilation. However, more broadly, her interests also include the aid system, youth and women's rights, and education.

Personal
Although born in Johannesburg, Ashley lived in Malawi for much of her childhood. After completing her bachelor's degree, she had three fantastic years teaching high school English before moving to Denmark to do her master's degree. She enjoys traveling, Siamese cats, and reading (especially anything Sci-Fi oriented). She currently lives in Aalborg, Denmark.
