Work

My former experience hardly overlaps the serious connotation of the term “work”. I mainly got involved in various traineeships, gaining experience from the “real word” beyond the books. Here I am now, trying to contribute to the development of the Global Citizen project, as Global Citizen contributes to my own advancement.

Education

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of National and World Economics in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2008. Later, in the autumn, I started my 2-year master’s in European Studies at Aalborg University.

Areas of Interest

Domestic policy has been an essential part of my bachelor’s studies. Since Bulgarian accession to the European Union, my field of interest shifted its focus and for the last year it’s been turned to the vast area of European policy. Unsuspectedly, the Union’s institutional organization turns out to be quite attractive to me. Recently, I have been emotionally devoted to European identity issues. In parallel, I specialize in Chinese Area Studies, to which I relate some of my current research for Global Citizen.

Personal

During my studies at home I was involved in various student initiatives ,and I never miss an opportunity to be in a contact with the spirit of academia by taking part in conferences with my own papers. 

My participation in the Global Citizen project is symbolic for the changes I have recently been through. Last year I swapped the Bulgarian capital for the Danish city of Aalborg, driven by the strive to explore another, alternative way of education, living and, from now on, work.  Today I am addicted to cake and to conversations about the weather.
