Christina Oskjær

Work
Apart from her work for Global Citizen as an editor/researcher, Christina is a voluntary worker at IBIS, an NGO that coordinates projects to secure and enhance equal rights to education, influence and resources in Africa and Latin America.



With her fellow activists she plans and leads lectures for high school students about developing countries, their indebtedness and their position in international trade. Christina also works as a voluntary translator of Spanish for a child sponsorship programme in Colombia coordinated by the Danish non-profit organisation AC International Child Support.



Furthermore she has volunteered as an assistant teacher in Guatemala and has also worked as a substitute teacher for primary and secondary students in Denmark.

Education
Christina is currently an undergraduate student of Political Science at the University of Århus and will gain her Bachelor’s degree in 2009, after which she plans to do an internship on an embassy before continuing her education.

Areas of Interest
Poverty reduction, globalization, international trade, natural resource governance, corruption, democratization theory, human rights, and US foreign policy.

Personal
Christina grew up in a small town near Aalborg, Denmark, and now lives and studies in Aarhus. She has travelled to a number of countries in Latin America and Southeast Asia, and her choice of studies is to a large extent motivated by her experiences there.
