The statistics show that the Danish youth unemployment rate has been increasing since the financial crisis started in 2008, showing that not only countries in the southern part of Europe has problems with youth unemployment. Thus, employment being an important economic indicator, this shows that Danish economy has not avoided being hit by the crisis despite the automatically stabilizing effect of comparatively high public unemployment insurances and high taxes.
