This paper, published by Centre for Social Change Research School of Humanities and Human Services, Queensland University of Technology, and written by Lisa Uusimaki, will argue that the aim of the Prostitution Act 1999 QLD, which is to control and regulate prostitution by legalizing ‘Boutique Brothels’, is indicative of the Queensland State Government’s blatant disregard and lack of understanding not only of the underlying causes of prostitution, but also for its demand.
