"Clear Path Recycling, a joint venture between DAK Americas and Shaw Industries, takes plastic soda bottles and recycles them into RPET flake, which is used to manufacture soft and durable Clear Touch polyester carpet. Clear Path Recycling is located in Fayetteville, NC and currently recycles 160 million pounds of soda bottles, keeping them from landfill. Compared to manufacturing fiber with all virgin materials, Clear Path Recycling will save 1.9 trillion BTUs of energy annually, which is enough energy to power 20,000 U.S. homes per year."
