This book looks at the relationship between international human rights and local legal norms in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The main focus of the book is on criminal justice post-Deng Xiaoping, and how the Criminal Procedure Law reforms have impacted the PRC's ratification and accession to the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights.
