"A survey of senior legal and compliance officers at more than 300 companies worldwide by Control Risks and the Economist Intelligence Unit found 58% identified among their greatest concerns related to corruption the demand for bribes to ensure the smooth running of their operations; 52% cited corruption risks associated with third parties and consultants. Only 29% expressed concern over the “classic” corruption risks associated with winning business. The survey also found many companies fail to employ basic safeguards against corruption."
