United Nation expert, James Anaya believes that Argentina must improve the living standards for its indigenous groups. He believes the country needs to implement programmes and policies in line with international standards. Currently, according to Anaya, one of the greatest threats to their living standards are the disputes over land titles, which occur most with private companies, enabled by judicial authorities. He also believes their is a lack of communication with the indigenous groups and that they do not play a great enough role in the decision making process about the use of the land with the private companies.
