Making the Most of ILO Convention 169

This article is specifically on the ILO Convention 169, which was ratified by Argentina. This Convention is a binding legal treaty that was created to protect indigenous rights, mainly through "prior and informed consent". Convention 169 also recognizes the rights of indigenous peoples to their traditional lands as well as their right to protect and sustain those lands.
