Creative Commons promotes a concept of copyright licensing inspired by the principle of open-source software and general public license. Works can freely, or under various conditions determined by the artist/author, be used by others. One aspiration is to minimize the current legal entanglements of intellectual property, another is the enrichment of public domain.
