The Rationalities of Cultural Policy ...

This paper gives an overview to different rationalities that have been the base for Danish cultural policy since WWII. After WWII Danish cultural policy was founded on an emancipatory ideology that sought to support national artistic language from the international market and commercialisation. The emancipatory rationale has gradually been replaced by an instrumental rationale that proposes that culture can be used to create economic and social growth.
