This article presents an alternative view on how Democracy was established in Western Germany after World War II. The author questions the actual influence of the United States on manifesting democratic structures. He argues that US strategies far from promoted democracy. Instead, the author claims cultural factors and a long democratic tradition to be the source of Democracy in Germany today.
