This paper uses a case study "to illustrate the effects of a mega infrastructure project - the metro railway - and a mega event - the 2010 Commonwealth Games - on slum demolitions and displacement of population in the Indian capital city. This case study - thereafter referred to as the Rajendra Nagar or Pusa Road case - allows us to tackle several issues of urban governance related to the implementation of such projects, in this case clearly at the expense of the right to housing of the poor."
