"Water scarcity and droughts affect many parts of Europe. Climate change and population growth are predicted to make the existing water problems even worse in many regions. In recognition of the acuteness of water scarcity and drought challenges, the European Union has adopted a Communication addressing the challenge of water scarcity and droughts.
