This article sheds light upon the recent situation of human trafficking in Europe and some of the legal and political initiatives to fight the phenomenon. It touches upon the notion of political willingness to strengthens the EU's efforts within the field and the role of especially the Swedish presidency in enhacing the focus on the problem of trafficking in humans.
