Shell recognise that CCS has a key part to play in reducing the emissions of the power generation sector, and without implementation of CCS at scale, the costs associated with meeting emissions targets could be up to 70% higher. Shell are concentrating their priorities on natural gas, biofuels, CCS and energy efficiency as these options have the potential to make a great difference to global CO2 emissions, while maintaining Shell’s responsibility to its customers growing needs for reliable, affordable energy.
