Tom Bennet
Work
Studying for an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in efficient fossil energy technologies at the University of Nottingham, UK, in collaboration with Scottish and Southern Energy.
Education
Tom finished high school in 2006. He studied for an MSc in chemistry from the University of Bristol from 2006- 2010, part of which included a year-long industrial placement at GlaxoSmithKline.
Areas of Interest
He is interested in novel renewable energy technologies and in methods of improving fossil fuel combustion, so that these fuels can be used in a more sustainable and efficient way. His research involves looking at biomass combustion processes in power plants, and finding methods with which the efficiency can be increased and the emissions reduced.
Personal
Tom was born and raised in England. He likes to travel, read, bake cakes, hike in the English national parks and run marathons when his knees can stand it.
