Borislav Gizdavkov
Work
Borislav has recently completed an internship programme at the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sofia. During its course, Borislav has been engaged in academic research on a wide range of topics in international politics as well as administrative tasks such as translating and intra-departmental communication and coordination. As an undergraduate he was a research assistant working on a project exploring the politics of energy security in the UK.
Education
Finished high school in 2008 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the summer of 2011 he obtained a degree in International Relations from the University of Birmingham, UK. His undergraduate dissertation focused on the discursive processes that shape the security dynamics in the East Asian region. Borislav is currently a full-time postgraduate student at University College London.
Areas of Interest
His main areas of interest are (inter)national security and the question of power in society. He is currently exploring the points of intersection between geography, globalisation and security. Borislav has also maintained strong, though non-academic interests in environmental issues and geography.
Personal
Borislav was born and raised in Bulgaria, but for the past three years has been living and studying in Britain. He loves travelling and exploring foreign countries and cultures. In his spare time he enjoys going out with friends, watching football and cooking.
