Global Citizen is the world’s first co-creative think-and-do-tank focusing on globalisation - and how to shape it. It will take more than 500 of the world’s best students to facilitate the knowledge base of Global Citizen and a much higher number of more people to start generating just a few of the globalised solutions we so desperately need during the 21st. century.
We firmly believe in knowledge based solutions where market and politics go hand in hand. We believe in democracy and the dynamics of a globalised market economy. We are convinced that it is possible to develop new products and new ways of doing things where profitable businesses and better social and environmental conditions are each other’s prerequisites. We are sure, that human, co-concerted engineering still has its best to offer.
Now, globalisation is one word but many things. Or to be more precise, globalisation is actually not a thing, but something we do. We globalize. First and foremost we globalize our production and consumption of goods and services. We globalize for good and bad. This fundamental insight has made it clear to us that Global Citizen will have to embrace more than 1.700 issues and be established step by step, closely linked to our three-linked vision:
